Bob Maskall spent 30 years in the Royal Air Force as a Fighter pilot, reaching the pinacle of flying in the single-seat Jaguar and being sent to Oman within 10 days of the invasion of Kuwait in 1990. He flew missions over Iraq in defence of the Kurdish people in the North and in the 1990s supported operations in Bosnia and the Former Yugoslavia. As recently as 2008 he spent 4 months at the Combined Air Operations Centre in Qatar which oversees operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan.
As a Flying Instructor he taught at all levels of flying and more recently has instructed most of the students who now fly on the front line. As a Flying Examiner he taught and tested many of the fast-jet flying instructors in the RAF and also the world famous RAF Aerobatic Team, The Red Arrows. He represented the RAF as a military advisor in numerous visits to other Air Forces as far afield as Bangladesh and Canada, South Africa and Norway.
All this experience of leadership, management and mentoring is now being put to good use as a Consultant to CEOs and Boardroom members, to drive individuals and teams forward to new extremes using the passion and dedication it takes to become a Fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force. His new company Top Gun Consultancy takes those finely tuned attributes and adapts them to fit the Boardroom challenges of today.
Bob lives with his wife Kate and family on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey in North Wales. |
